The info he got led him to a warehouse on near the Washington Harbor. Not too far from Georgetown. He landed softly on the roof of the building and peered in through a skylight. He saw a group of tough-guys standing around. They seemed to be amused about something. Changing his angle, he saw what it was. There were three kids there. A teenage girl and a little boy and a little girl. The little ones looked like twins. Each was gagged and tied to a chair. There was a video camera set up in front of them. Sean felt outrage swell up. His own and Meg's. This called for more than sticks. He drew his rapier and moved the main gauche to a quick-draw position. In his left hand he held a group of four throwing knives. he crashed through the skylight and landed behind the gang-bangers. He flicked his left hand and four pieces of steel flashed out, each one leaving a green energy-trail. They each found their marks, dropping four of the gangsters closest to the kids. He leapt forward while pulling the main gauche and skewered the leader through the leg with his rapier. Holding the main gauche under his neck, Sean shouted for the other gangsters to freeze. The four gangsters he had hit before rolled on the floor in agony, steel blades buried in their kneecaps. The head gangster yelled for his guys to obey the masked maniac. Sean ordered them all to drop their weapons and lay on the floor. He let go of the main gauche but it hovered in mid-air, the point just under the head gangster's chin. He casually walked over and cut the kids free with his rapier. Unlike most rapiers, Sean's did have a serviceable cutting edge. Soon the goons were all tied up, and a call was placed to 911. Within a moment, sirens could be heard. "You S.O.B." shouted the lead gangster, "The Boss is going to get you. He's badder than you are and he's going to get you." Sean wanted to know more about this "Boss" but the cops were about to burst in. Sean nodded to the children and was lifted up through the skylight again. A split second before the cops charged in, the main gauche pulled away from the gangster and followed Sean through the skylight. |
